Description:

Belleisle is a municipal course i Ayr, one out of 8 run by the South Ayrshire Council. In our opinion this is the best of the ones we have played. We have tried all but Maybole and Fullarton. It is  a true Belleisle is Championship Parkland course set on rolling woodland with guarded by threes that have seen a lot and experienced a lot. I mean they are majestic and old, probably just trying to live their retirement days watching good golf shots, not so good golf shots and terrible golf shots.

Teeing off at the first is a cool feeling. The Belleisle House, which is used as a hotel, gives the golf course a royal start. There is plenty of room on the fairway(s), but there is also a big chance that not only the threes are watching u tee off. Just close your eyes and drive the mother far down and up on the other side, and you are off to a very enjoyable round.

Rumours has it, this is the best public inland course in Scotland. We have no reason to disagree, so let’s assume the rumours are correct. It sure is a very nice course. There are several holes that stand out as beautiful. I do like the par 5’s on this one. And specially like the holes attached to the Belleisle House. The course has actually been used as warmup to the European Open, so there have been some pretty good players testing the course as well.
