Day 1 – Plan C

This was to be the reconstitution trip for Ruff Fairway Golf Society. We had it all planned, down to the itzy bitzy details. Not a nipple was overlooked. Town to crash, place to stay and courses to play. Ireland here we come … it is greener on the other side. But people of Shittur Islendingur (in Norwegian) wanted it otherwise. They opened their buttocks and blew all kinds of smoke and ashes over the north. All planes were cancelled. Luckily we had a Plan B, that actually turned out to be plan C, and what a plan it turned out to be.

The designated driver took the luxurious caravan, Gypsy, straight across the border to Sweden for a quick pit-stop to fuel up the designated passengers. In back of the Ryanair of Caravans the Plan C was added details. Where to play and where to stay, so to speak. Nothing was booked, and travelling with a home on wheels a place to stay was definitely not needed to pre-book. Being a friday, the parking place for the Caravan took priority. Someone i back of the Van, knew where god stuff happen on frida nights, so Stenungsund was the destination and all we needed was to find somewhere to swing the irons and shake the balls.

Stengungssund GK was a good choice, although we came a little bit late, meaning we had the course to ourselves. We could slice and dice as much as we wanted without even whispering Foore. The space was needed as we were just as rusty as one should be after a winter or three without play. But hey once you know how to ride a bike you certainly don’t forget it. The same goes for Golf …. Once you know how to play you certainly know to swing the clubs, and you also know that the one good shot counts ten times more than the ten bad shots. All in all I do think we did alright all four of us. Who won the points, the score, the Happy and the Allah Akbar, I do not remember, but I am very surprised if I did not cash home all the victories …..

Now we need to park the car and find someone to hang with. Once we pulled into the Parking lot at Stenungsbaden Yacht Club, we knew we hit Jackpot. We managed to hook up with some very nice people for FoooorePlay or vorspiel if you’d like, even before Gypsy had stopped to cool down. The Yacht Club was packed and they played music and danced like the Swedish do on Fridays …. we did not hold back either and a great night it was.
